Description Arrival of the first former U.S. Navy destroyers at the Royal Dockyard Devonport, Plymouth, Devon (UK), on 28 September 1940. USS Aaron Ward (DD-132) was renamed HMS Castleton (I23) and scrapped in 1947. To the right is USS Abel P. Upshur (DD-193) which was renamed HMS Clare (I14). She was scrapped in 1945.
