Sibinski, assigned to Company C, 302nd General Support Aviation Battalion. Michelle also works at the Camp Humphreys Commissary as a cashier. “I have been in that situation when you don’t have anything and I just want to give back to my community what I have now,” she said. “This is a small community here, and pretty much everyone knows everybody, and, you know, doing these little things makes a big difference, especially, for those who are far away from home and family. Little closures like this help a lot and warm everybody’s heart.” A group of volunteers led by Kap Brown, the USO duty manager, made all the preparations for the event and were serving a hearty meal for several dozen Soldiers. “It is a lot of fun and it is very rewarding to give back,” said Rosie Majka, an Army wife who has been volunteering at the USO since last April. The event has received very positive responses from Soldiers. “I think it is a really great community outreach that USO is doing, and I know that the Soldiers definitely appreciate it,” said Staff Sgt. Brian R. Simon, assigned to 4-58th Airfield Operation Battalion. The next USO Lunchbox is scheduled for Jan. 23. They will have hotdogs and desserts. For those who would like to donate something or have any questions, contact the USO at 753-6281. |
