English: In 1966, a Viet Cong mortar shell slammed into the chest of a South Vietnamese soldier. The removal of this live ordnance became the subject of one of the most dangerous and innovative combat surgeries ever performed. 60 mm mortar in the chest wall of Private 1st Class Nguyen Loung, ARVN. 10/01/1966
