The ship is named after Medal of Honor winner Cpl. Mitchell Red Cloud Jr., U.S. Army. The 950 foot long, medium speed, roll-on/roll-off ship is one of 20 Military Sealift Command ships under construction. Red Cloud is the daughter of the shipÕs name sake.
