[edit]DescriptionUSNS Pecos (T-AO-197) sails into the sunset in September 2014.JPG |
English: The U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG-89) maneuvers alongside the fleet oiler USNS Pecos (T-AO-197) to conduct a replenishment-at-sea during exercise "Valiant Shield 2014". U.S. Navy surface combatants and Military Sealift Command fleet logistics ships, part of Commander, Task Force 73, conducted a simulated submarine threat exercise during a regularly scheduled RAS as part of "Valiant Shield". "Valiant Shield" is a U.S.-only exercise integrating 18,000 U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, and Marine Corps personnel, more than 200 aircraft and 19 surface ships, offering real-world joint operational experience to develop capabilities that provide a full range of options to defend U.S. interests and those of its allies and partners. |
