English: Marines with the Provisional Mortuary Affairs Company, which included a detachment of Marines from Bravo Company, 2nd Transportation Support Battalion, use stretchers to carry the bodies of enemy insurgents from trucks to their gravesite Dec. 11, 2004, on the northern edge of Fallujah. In addition to convoying thousands of tons of supplies to U.S. military forces throughout western Iraq, Bravo Co. was also tasked with a variety of other jobs during their deployment, to include the collection and burial of more than 460 enemy killed in action during Operation Al Fajr. The Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based unit is returning to the United States this month after more than seven months of duty in Iraq with the 1st Force Service Support Group. |
