English: Lucia Abec, granddaughter of Vietnam War veteran Marine Sgt. Roland Briceno, looks up from climbing the stairs amidst a sea of Marine dress blue delta trousers following the Proclamation Ceremony for Marine Week Cleveland June 11, 2012. Briceno, who served four years active duty and two years reserve, brought his daughter and four granddaughters from Toledo, Ohio, to enjoy the opening day of Marine Week events. More than 750 Marines will be in Cleveland June 11-17 displaying Marine aircraft, vehicles and equipment, as well as interacting with and educating the public on the values and character of the Marine Corps. One of the culminating events will be a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration, which showcases Marines' ability to assault from ship-to-shore via ground and air, June 16-17 at Burke Lakefront Airport. |
