English: Senator Joseph F. Vitale, Senator District 19, New Jersey State Senate congratulates, Corporal Forrest M. Samalconis, infantryman, 1st team leader, 3rd squad, 2nd Platoon, Company G., 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division after he was awarded New Jersey's highest military award, the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal May 6, 2005. Marine of Company G. were awarded the medal for their actions in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. "It was also an honor to receive this award by Senator Vitale," said Samalcoins, a native of Indian Mills, New Jersey. "It was an honor to receive this award and follow in my father's footsteps. He also is a Marine and served in Vietnam."
