English: Camp Pendleton's 11 Area Football Field is currently being reconstructed to provide a better and safer sports-oriented training field for Marines and sailors on base. The construction began in early December 2011 and is slated to be completed Mar. 31. The new area will consist of a six-lane, all-weather, ruberized track surrounded by a four-foot fence and access gate. The synthetic, imperviable turf will make up a football, soccer and flag football field with a 10 milimeter shock pad underneath to help prevent injuries during contact sports. |
