Description
English: Surgeon General of the Navy, Vice Adm. Donald Arthur looks on as the doctors and corpsmen of the Surgical Shock Trauma platoon demonstrate how they treat patients sent to their facility. Vice Adm. Arthur braved the dangers of the desert to see what kind of medical miracles the Navys doctors and corpsmen pull off on a regular basis here. He also reviewed the tactics and equipment used to treat injured Marines, sailors and soldiers in a combat zone. The visit gave him a chance to understand the challenges faced by the military medical personnel providing the initial lifesaving treatment in Iraq.
