Description
English: Brian Miller, rescue officer, Fire Station 1, Fire and Emergency Services, watches before his turn to enter the burn box that Camp Pendleton’s Fire and Emergency Services used last month to witness the flashover phenomena. Flashovers occur when the fire’s heat can no longer be absorbed by the room’s contents and ignites everything around, including the air. These instant infernos can be deadly to even the most experienced firefighter.
