English: Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Ahlborn, Company E, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, kneels in front of the Soldier’s Crosses that represent Cpl. Richard Nelson and Lance Cpl. Dean Opicka, who were killed in action during their deployment to Iraq in a memorial service Tuesday at Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray Field. Nelson and Opicka were killed in action April 14 after their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. As the ceremony came to a close, the Marines and sailors were given the opportunity to approach the Soldier’s Crosses and pay their last respects to Nelson and Opicka. |
