English: Beninese soldiers and U.S. Marines receive coaching from eachother after exchanging weapons during a live fire exercise here, June 13. Marines fired AK-56s, while the Beninese troops took on the M-16. The live fire evolution is part of an Exercise SHARED ACCORD 09 training evolution. SHARED ACCORD is a scheduled 15-day, bilateral U.S.-Benin training event designed to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of each nation’s tactics, techniques and procedures. The training will focus on individual and crew served weapons proficiency and small unit training tactics, techniques and procedures as well as company and battalion level staff training. Additionally, SA09 will involve various medical related humanitarian assistance efforts for the local population and limited veterinary care in the vicinity of Bembereke. |
