English: AR RAMADI, Iraq (Aug. 8, 2005) -A member of the Iraqi Security Forces searches a car in an Iraqi man's driveway during a mission in the city here Aug. 8. Many of the Al Anbar capital's locals respond well to having ISF patrol through their neighborhoods conducting security and stabilization operations. Marines with the Combined Action Platoon(CAP), Company B, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, support Operation Iraqi Freedom by training new members of the ISF and employing them on Ramadi's urban battlefield to help secure the city from terrorism. The Marines are letting the ISF carry more of the operational workload because their tactics are improving. Iraqi Security Forces are even leading their own foot patrols. Photo by: Cpl. Tom Sloan |
