English: Marines from the 4th Civil Affairs Group provide security while news reporters visit Jolan Park inside Fallujah, Iraq on the December 4, 2004 media tour. The Media was given the opportunity to see different sites of interest in the city and ask questions about those sites and the reconstruction efforts after the November battle between the Multi-National Forces and the insurgents. The citizens of Fallujah have just recently been allowed to re-enter their city. Iraqi Red Crescent members use the park as a humanitarian checkpoint to hand out food, water, and blankets to the citizens. Reporters ask the citizens what they are expecting when they get to their homes, and how they feel about the damage done to their city. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by LCpl Daniel J. Klein) |
