English: Pfc. Fred Yax, a machine gunner with Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, applies a series of splints to Pfc. Nathan Mead’s legs after suffering a simulated broken femur during a combat lifesaver course. The course is designed to turn ordinary Marines into first-responders on the front lines.
