Description
English: U.S. Marines and Sailors serving with Task Force 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, in western Al Anbar Province, Iraq, give a standing ovation to Sgt. Maj. John L. Estrada, sergeant major of the Marine Corps who was at the time 19 days away from ending his honorable service to the Corps. The Marines and Sailors gave the ovation as a gesture of respect and pride for service under their 15th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. Estrada and Gen. James T. Conway, commandant of the Marine Corps, visited U.S. Marines and Sailors April 6, 2007, to talk about upcoming plans for the Marine Corps, American support for the war in Iraq and to bid them farewell and a job well done.
