DescriptionUSMC-01934.jpg |
English: U.S. Marine 2nd Lt. Colin M. Browning, (top center) 24, a native Thief River Falls, Minn., and a range safety officer with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, throws a bag filled with candy and toys to a Marine to give to the Iraqi girl while in Fallujah, Iraq, Feb. 5. The Marines, Sailors and Soldiers with 3/5, conducted one of the largest humanitarian assistance efforts for the citizens of Fallujah during this civil military operation, handing out more than $15,000 of donated supplies. Several donations from Project Handclasp made the operation possible. Project Handclasp is a non-profit organization established in 1962 to be a mediator between the Navy and the American citizens who want to donate humanitarian, educational and goodwill material to other countries during naval deployments. |
