Description
English: Marines with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, assemble a CH-46 Sea Knight on the flight line at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., in preparation fo Exercise Desert Talon. The aircraft that are being flown during the exercise are staged on the flight line so aircrews have adequate space to prepare for operations. The mission of the exercise is to prepare aviation and aviation support units for operations in Iraq through training events in a realistic desert environment. Units from East and West Coast Marine Corps installations, as well as Hawaii, and the Army's 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard, are participating in the exercise.
