English: Taking a moment to catch up on friends and family from Murfreesboro, Tenn., Lance Cpl. Jacob A. Lamb, a motor transport operator with 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion deployed to Al Qa'im, Iraq, reads a letter from his girlfriend. Lamb recently became the one millionth Moto Mail recipients upon receiving a letter from his girlfriend. Moto is short for motivation, and it's what U.S. servicemembers like Lamb use as a means to keep contact with his friends and family back home. This roughly two-year old program allows U.S. servicemembers deployed overseas to receive printed letters from home in less than 24 hours. Lamb, who supports a combat engineer company within the battalion, is often working at remote sites building fortified battle positions, emplacing security barriers and improving the living structures where Marines and Iraqi Security forces are maintaining stability and security in the area. Lamb is a 22-year-old from Murfreesboro, Tenn. |
