Summary
[edit]DescriptionUSA 2000 presidential winning margin by county, scaled.jpg |
English: The winning margin, log (margin+avg county size) scaled, results by county for the 2000 United States of America Presidential election. The winning margin is the vote difference in the county between the winner and the loser. If Bush got 301 votes in a county, and Gore got 201, the margin is 100. It is then scaled using log (base e) when combined with the average population size. Without any log scaling only a few counties would be visible at all. The top five margins are Los Angeles, CA (1,598,375), Cook, IL (1,291,805), Harris, TX (525,679), Kings(Brooklyn), NY (445,196) and Philadelphia, PA (441,834). |
