English: Planners from the U.S. and Indonesia discuss exercise Gema Bhakti at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, Feb. 20, 2013. Members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and U.S. Pacific Command are conducting an initial planning conference Feb. 19-22 for the upcoming bi-lateral humanitarian and disaster relief exercise Gema Bhakti, which is being held in Indonesia in June. The U.S. Army Pacific Contingency Command Post’s Humanitarian Assistance Survey Teams will make up the core of the U.S. contingent at the exercise with other services playing a supporting role. This is the first time USARPAC has conducted an exercise of this scale with Indonesian forces. |
