Soldiers and noncommissioned officers received 18 rounds to zero their M16A2 rifles and 40 rounds to qualify on paper targets. The competitors received two minutes to fire 20 rounds prone supported, one minute to fire 10 rounds prone unsupported and one minute to fire 10 rounds from the kneeling firing position.
