| Description |
New financial processes and audit manuals were introduced in DISCOs by the USAID Power Distribution Program. The new manuals update the legacy manuals of DISCOs that were last revised in the 1980s thus providing the companies with manuals consistent with those of a best practices modern utility. “A milestone was reached when the first quarterly risk-based audit report was issued and MEPCO became the first DISCO to issue the results of its internal audit under the new framework. Internal audit of one business process was conducted which demonstrated a 45% increase in revenue against what was previously reflected by legacy internal audit functions.” USAID Power Distribution Program Finance Lead Abid Lodhi |
