A woman votes in the 2015 local elections. USAID is supporting free and fair 2016 elections in Ghana. Photo credit: Yooku Ata-Bedu, USAID/Ghana The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) launched their electoral activities on September 6. CODEO was established by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD) and is a non-partisan alliance of more than 40 civil society organizations. USAID works with the CDD with regards to election observation. At the launch, CODEO informed attendees about plans for its upcoming election observation program for the 2016 elections. Expected Development Result(s): Free and fair 2016 presidential elections The scoop: <a href="http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/features/Election-2016-Another-test-for-Ghana-s-democracy-467755" rel="nofollow">www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/features/Election-2016-Ano...</a> The Electoral Commission (EC) organized trainings for nearly 300 election officers and 300 officers of the National Commission on Civic Education, in all ten regions of Ghana on their recently launched communication strategy. The trainings aim to improve the information flow between the EC and Ghanaian voters ahead of the 2016 presidential elections.
