中文：蘇格蘭，麥芽威士忌蒸餾廠，壺式蒸餾器

麥芽威威士忌(Malt Whisky)在製造上與所謂穀物威士忌(Grain Whisky)最不同的地方（參考：蘇格蘭威士忌的分類），就是使用形狀有點類似巨大茶壺的壺式蒸餾器(Pot Still)來將發酵完成的酒汁蒸餾成高酒精度的烈酒。

圖中所見為艾拉島威士忌蒸餾廠拉弗格(Laphroaig)酒廠所屬的七具壺式蒸餾器，注意到前景的四具蒸餾器與遠方的三具在瓶頸上方的冷凝器部分，形狀有點不大相同，這主要是因為遠處的三具蒸餾器是用來蒸餾發酵酒汁(Wash)的酒汁蒸餾器(Wash Still)，而近處的四具則是蒸餾初級烈酒(Low Wine)用的烈酒蒸餾器(Spirits Still)，在功能上有所不同！
