Amirah Ambekisye, the personnel officer assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, upside down while awarding her golden combat spurs during the Task Force Maverick Spur Ride at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Feb. 21, 2012. Ambekisye earned the spurs, which indicates an experienced Service member who has deployed and experienced combat with an Army cavalry unit, after completing a road march and passing tests in land navigation, casualty evaluation, donning chemical protective masks and assembling weapons systems. |
