A FIBERGLASS SWAB THAT IS PART OF A NEW SANDIA DEVELOPED INSTANT SHOOTER ID KIT. WHEN A GUN IS FIRED, THE SHOOTER GETS SPRAYED WITH AN INVISIBLE BLAST OF CHEMICAL RESIDUES. SANDIA WORKING WITH A COLORADO COMPANY, DEVELOPED A GUNSHOT RESIDUE DETECTION TECHNIQUE THAT IDENTIFIES VERY SMALL AMOUNTS CHEMICAL CLUES ON A PERSON'S HANDS, ARMS OR CLOTHING. THIS WILL HELP POLICE OFFICERS AT A CRIME SCENE QUICKLY IDENTIFY A SUSPECT WHO HAS RECENTLY FIRED A GUN. For more information or additional images, please contact 202-586-5251. |
