Description

Suspensions of polymer liquid crystal flakes (magnified 100X) in silicon oil can be microencapsulated within the body of a flexible polymer film to form electrically switchable conformal coatings.

This new class of electro-optical materials is especially well suited for applications such as reflective flexible displays and switchable/tunable optical coatings.
