THE MARK II DETECTOR FACILITY WAS BUILT BY THE CONTINUING COLLABORATION BETWEEN SLAC AND LBL AND INCORPORATES SEVERAL NEW DETECTOR TECHNOLOGIES PREVIOUSLY UNAVAILABLE. IT WAS CONSTRUCTED TO ENABLE THE STUDY OF THE ELECTRON POSITRON ANNIHILATION PROCESS WITH HIGHER PRECISION THAN ITS PREDECESSOR, THE MARK I MAGNETIC DETECTION.
