NATIONAL IGNITION FACILITY ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR ED MOSES SHOW TARGET CHAMBER TO ENERGY SECRETARY SAMUEL BODMAN DURING A TOUR OF LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY RESEARCH FACILITIES.

NIF ENABLES KEY PROGRAMS AND TECHNOLOGIES THAT SUPPORT DOE'S NATIONAL NUCLEAR SECURITY ADMINISTRATION DEFENSE PROGRAMS AND LLNL MISSIONS, ENSURING THAT THE NATION'S NUCLEAR WEAPONS REMAIN SAFE, SECURE AND RELIABLE. NIF, ONE OF THE CORNERSTONES OF DOE'S STOCKPILE STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM, WILL INTEGRATE THE INITIAL CONFINEMENT FUSION PROGRAM INTO THE OVERALL STOCKPILE STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM AND FOSTER THE DEVELOPMENT OF ASSOCIATED LASER TECHNOLOGIES.
