| Description |
English: Tyrley Locks, near Market Drayton, Shropshire. This image shows part of the pound between locks three and four (seen ahead), of the five lock flight, seen with telephoto assistance from Lock No 3. The distinctive brown colour of the water comes from the sandstone origin of the soil in the fields. The colour becomes quite intense after heavy rain, or when boat screws churn up the sediment on the canal bed. |
