| Description |
English: Tyrley Lock No 3, Shropshire Union Canal. This view of the middle lock in the flight of five is from the middle of the pound below. There are five locks in the Tyrley flight, lowering the water level by a total of thirty-three feet (ten metres). They are an attractive set, well maintained, in a lovely rural location.
The county boundary runs along the hedge/tree line to the right of the towpath, so although the whole canal and the locks are in Staffordshire all the land to the right is in Shropshire. |
