Title
Two Post Medieval copper alloy apothecary weights
Description
English: Two Post Medieval copper alloy weights, possibly apothecary weights (17th century). Both weights are square and were cut from a sheet of copper alloy. The larger one (token 2) has two rows of three punched annulets with a stamped rampant lion below. The smaller weight has the number 16 stamped in the centre within a circle of punched dots.

A similar weight with six punched annulets was found in London with a James I counter stamp instead of the lion (Egan 2005: 162-163 no.833).

Dimensions token 1: length: 13.43mm; width: 12.68mm; thickness: 1.15mm; weight: 0.64g. Dimensions token 2: length: 14.31mm; width: 13.52mm; thickness: 1.03mm; weight: 0.29g.
