Description
English: Two U.S. Navy Douglas AD-5W Skyraider (139579, 139600) of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 12 (VAW-12) Det.34 "Bats" in flight, in 1957. VAW-12 Det.34 was assigned to Air Task Group 182 (ATG-182) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain (CVA-39) for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 21 January to 27 July 1957.
  • 132559 was converted to an A-1E and was transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1967. It crashed near Ban Pho Xiangkohang, Laos, due to a wing gun explosion on 18 March 1969. The pilot ejected and was rescued.
