Summary
[edit]DescriptionTwo Bridges, South Stainley - geograph.org.uk - 694450.jpg |
English: Two Bridges, South Stainley A stone bridge carrying the road and a very unsafe footbridge of rotting wood in the hamlet of South Stainley. Stainley Beck flows beneath the bridges. This is a remarkable stream which begins its journey a mile or so from Brimham Rocks, then winds its way through a series of glacial overflow channels and open country turning in a variety of directions before finally meeting the Ure opposite Newby Hall. Along the way it has at least 6 different names. |
