Summary
[edit]DescriptionTwll Twrw - Monk's Cave natural arch - geograph.org.uk - 182108.jpg |
English: Twll Twrw / Monk's Cave natural arch. Twll Twrw literally means noise hole. It is located at a geological boundary, where crumbly stone (north) gives way to more resilient stratified material (south). The sea has penetrated the bottom of the cliff and the crumblier material on the inland side has caved in. The sea can just about be seen through the hole at the bottom in the picture. The eastern half of the square is a grassy headland with an abandoned farm, Mynachdy'r Graig. |
