| Description |
English: Turnhouse Hill from Glencorse Reservoir, Pentlands This view of the north-western slopes of the hill shows the extensive carpet of heather in full bloom on this late August afternoon. Heather is a vital and versatile resource for a variety of wildlife but makes the going more difficult for walkers who stray off the defined paths. Visitors to the hills are free to roam at will but must exercise particular care in the shooting and lambing seasons. Walkers should also beware of those parts of the Pentlands that are restricted for military use by the MOD. |
