Summary
[edit]DescriptionTurkish ISAF Soldier helps civilian.jpg | Turkish civil-military cooperation teams from the International Security Assistance Force?s Regional Command ? Central aided Afghan civilians participating in the Hajj, a Muslim religious obligation that compels able-bodied followers who can afford to do so to take a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime. ISAF, in coordination with the Afghan government, set up a small camp at the airport in Kabul to provide comfort items, a place to rest, a small mosque and emergency medical care for Afghans on their way to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage. ?I enjoyed seeing this camp,? Hussein Nasir, one of the Hajjis ? or Hajj pilgrims ? said. ?There was no camp like this before for Hajjis and they were worried.? More than 30,000 Afghans took part in this year?s Hajj. |
