Description
English: Turban helmet at the Château de Villandry. The description tag reads:

Turban helmet, Eastern Anatolia, Ottoman art, late 15th century, decorated in the 19th century, height 27cm. Made of steel, it is in the shape of a painted dome with vertical fluting in the centre. It was decorated later with a long calligraphic band, with palmettes and arabesques damascened in gold and silver. A moveable nosepiece and a cape (a set of chain mail parts worn over the helmet to protect the neck and shoulders) are attached to the helmet.

Anatolie de l'Est, art ottoman, fin du XVe siècle, décoré au XIXe siècle, haut. 27cm. En acier, il présente une forme de dôme à pointe élancée et cannelures verticales dans sa partie médiane. Il a été décoré ultérieurement d'un long bandeau calligraphique, de palmettes et d'arabesques damasquinés d'or et d'argent. Un nasal mobile et un camail (ensemble de pièces de mailles portés sur le casque et protégeant cou et épaules) sont fixés sur le timbre.
