Summary
[edit]DescriptionTupolev SB 2M-100A (unmarked) (9734712773).jpg |
The Tupolev SB was a very successful bomber design which served with ten air forces and was in service during the Spanish Civil War and WW2. It's Tupolev designation was ANT-40. Of the 6,500 produced, this is the only known survivor. Recovered from the Yuzhne Muiski mountain range in the late 1970's, it was restored by a volunteer group of Tupolev employees and went on display, initially outside, in 1982. It has since moved under cover in the original display hangar. Russian Air Force Museum. Monino, Russia. 13-8-2012 |
