| Description |
(1 in a multiple picture album) I have found no other place as peaceful and beautiful as Tuolumne Meadows in the high country of Yosemite. Only a small portion of the park visitors make the drive up Tioga Road (CA Hwy 120) to enjoy this unspoiled meadow. Here Lembert Dome is reflected in the curve of the Tuolumne River. It is said that this slice of alpine paradise is the place that motivated conservationist John Muir to push for the creation of Yosemite National Park in 1890. |
