English: Tsuba and bag circular steel disc with recessed design, village and mountains at top, figures and trees at base, one side is daytime, the other is nighttime, remnants of gold and silver detailing, kogai and kozuka infilled with shakudo in two layers rather than one, copper work around nakago hole handsewn rectangular bag, green silk and blue and white silk, with large red band at top and red silk lining Tsuba (sword guards) were used to protect the sword wielder's hands from sliding onto the blade. They are usually finely decorated, incorporating traditional motifs and designs and made from a variety of metals, such as iron, steel, brass or shakudo - an alloy of copper and gold.
