Description
English: Tsuba and bag shakudo circular disc with open work design with gold detailing on both sides, this type of tsuba is quite rare to be in shakudo, usually in steel, the nakago hole has been repaired with copper handsewn silk bag in light pink with cherry blossoms Tsuba (sword guards) were used to protect the sword wielder's hands from sliding onto the blade. They are usually finely decorated, incorporating traditional motifs and designs and made from a variety of metals, such as iron, steel, brass or shakudo - an alloy of copper and gold.
