St. Clements. This pretty little hamlet is about a mile up Tresillian Creek, and two miles by direct road from Truro. In the church, whose tower is shown, is a memorial to the antiquarian, Polwhele, author of a history of Cornwall, who died in 1838. Between the church and vicarage is an ancient stone ten feet high with a Roman inscription on it.
