Summary
[edit]DescriptionTruckers-hitch-zrig-usage-strategies.png |
English: Truckers-hitch-zrig-usage-strategies of how to get it to hold self, with a Hitch in light duty or add separate friction hitch for heavier. When release hand pull lower support anchor goes from 2/3 load to full load instantly so might release slow. Use fig.8 eye doesn't shrink up like some others and can still remotely shake/dance/flirt out of rope easier. Carabiner, pulley, metals to reduce friction in the 3x compress or 2x lift potentials pulling only end downwards. The frictions reduce this multiplier of output for tightening but help hold for controlled release better. Friction Hitch instead of eye on Standing Part lets you use whole rope in increments. Other Friction Hitch can hold load for you , very useful if pulley frame or other contrivance combs the friction hitch forward as pull input, and then holds when input released. Extra Half Hitch around eye does seem to jam slip 8 less hard on heavy load. |
