Summary

[edit]
Description

English: dry valley Woogtal, Swabian Alb. This dry valley draines the largest plain oft he Alb’s „Schichtflächenalb”. The Schichtflächenalb is the heavily denuded lower part of the upper lithostratigraphic unit of the South German Jurassic (ox2), it extends all along the Alb’s cuesta. The marly underground of ox1 dams the karst water and drains it into rivulet Lauchert near by. In case of floods a small spring and all other overflow is drained into the rivulet. Note the very stony topsoil, often typical on the Alb.
