Summary

[edit]
Description
Deutsch: Kohlstettental.

English: Valley between Kohlstetten and Offenhausen (villages between Großengstingen and Gomadingen, Swabian Alb. The dry valley is the karstified result of a pliocene-pleistocene Ur-Lauter (Große Lauter), which even drained the northern Alb Foreland. The continual tectonic lift of the Alb cut the Ur-Lauter and its drainage of the forland, such that the dry valley of the Große Lauter is now ca. 90 m above the incised Echaz valley.
