[edit]DescriptionTriton - Voyager 2 (44313595721).png |
Voyager ISS narrow-angle image of Triton taken around 1640 UT on August 25, 1989, when Voyager 2 was located approximately 500,000 km away from Triton. This image was constructed using a violet/green filter pair and a synthetic red channel (green - 40% violet) to produce a natural color view of the moon. The crescent tip is missing due to a slight pointing error by the spacecraft, which placed this part of the moon out of the camera's field of view.
