English: The famous Trilokya Mohan Narayan Temple in Kathmandu's Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square. This temple is located in front of the Hanumandhoka Gadadi Meeting house or near the Kumari House. This very attractive and artistic 5-storey temple has three roofs. Various artistic images are carved on the roof screeds. While the temple is entirely dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On the western side of the temple there is a very attractive and large garuna. This temple is associated with the famous Indrajatra festival of the valley. Ten avatars of Lord Vishnu are shown in this temple, so there is a huge crowd of spectators in this temple during this festival. It is also called Dashavatar temple.
In 1690, Rani Mata Riddhilakshmi commissioned the construction of this temple. Among the various heritages in Hanumandhoka, this is one of the attractive heritages. This temple was completely damaged in the devastating earthquake of 2072. Its reconstruction work has been completed in 2079. In this temple, domestic tourists, foreign tourists, local residents sit and relax while viewing the Hanuman Door complex. At the top of the temple there is also a very attractive Gajur. |
